MAVERICK MATH SUPERSTARS is back for our second year. Maverick Math is a 12-week
program sponsored by the PTA that builds math skills aligned with our curriculum at IES and the
Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). It is also based on the principles of Love & Logic
as it teaches responsibility and commitment. This is a VOLUNTARY program that is open to all
Kindergarten through 4th grade students.
Each week students must complete a worksheet for their grade level and return it by Friday at
8:30 a.m. (12:30 p.m. for PM kindergarten). Worksheets are available to download from home
the previous Friday evening or they may be obtained on Monday at school in front of the library.
Bonus Points are given for downloaded sheets.
Students receive points for every correct answer. Their points will accumulate during the 12
weeks and at the close of the program each student will receive prizes. In the spring an awards
ceremony will be held for students who participate in all 12 weeks.
Class and individual scores will be posted on the Maverick Math wall. A traveling trophy will be
presented to the class with the highest number of participants.
Each participant must have a parent registration form signed and turned in before receiving any
reward. Please read it carefully before signing.
